Japan and ASEAN - Future Opportunities and Challenges for Sustainable Development Cooperation for ASEAN and Japan

This panel aims to discuss future of a cooperative relationship between ASEAN and Japan, which has been built for peace and stability, as well as development and prosperity in the region. Year of 2016 is specially important for Japan and ASEAN, since we had the the 50th Anniversary of Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations (SJ50), ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has been started, and the 50thanniversary of establishment of ASEAN will be seen in the next coming year. At this special occasion where the new module on the region has been launched at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, this panel invites excellent speakers from Japan and discuss future outlook of cooperative relationship between Japan and ASEAN, especially from perspectives such as science and technology, foreign policy, and security.
