IPS Corporate Associates One-table Dinner with Mr Stanley Loh

Findings from Singapore’s third National Climate Change Study, released earlier this year, unveiled concerning climate projections that will pose threats to the island city. These include the accelerating increase in mean sea levels and more extreme weather variations. In his National Day Rally 2019 speech, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong estimated that it could cost the country S$100 billion or more in the long term to protect Singapore against rising sea levels. The government has been making an active push towards a greener economy, with recent efforts such as the establishment of the SG Eco Fund in 2020; setting aside up to S$180 million for the Enterprise Sustainability Programme launched in 2021; and the announcement of an additional S$66 million to support the Cities of Tomorrow Research & Development Programme in 2022.

Amidst continuing urbanisation, what does the government's commitment to building a more liveable, sustainable and climate-resilient Singapore mean for firms and industries? How can businesses capitalise on the emerging opportunities or contribute to advancing the ongoing transitions?

Join us in a dialogue with Mr Stanley Loh as he delves into the work of the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and how it is driving the whole-of-nation sustainability movement to achieve Singapore’s climate ambitions.
