Asia Thinker Series (After the Pandemic): Reimagining Education

Schools have been incorporating online teaching platforms over the years, but the global pandemic has disrupted the education sector greatly, exposing schools and institutes of higher learning (IHLs) to increased or new risks and liabilities. Beyond just health and safety concerns, schools grapple with its platforms and offerings - including the need to ensure that students continue to enjoy the best learning experience through a combination of both digital and physical spaces. Schools and IHLs also need to ensure that the skillsets and curricula offered prepare their graduates for an uncertain future, including against potential pandemics and rapid technological advancements. With the new education landscape incorporating both physical and digital spaces in the future, what will be the implications on digital inequality in society? How should education systems, schools and IHLs adapt? How has COVID-19 shaped and reinvented the future of our education system?
