The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think-tank within the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. IPS is looking to hire a Senior Executive/Assistant Manager (Data Quality Management) for the Social Lab. The main role is to oversee QC data administration and provide support for audit checks of survey fieldwork. He/She will have the opportunity to acquire critical QC operations skills and benefit from exposure to advanced data processing and analysis.
The job scope includes:
• Manage QC data of assigned projects, including performing QC checks/audits on interviewers via telephone validations, audio audits, onsite checks, and observations.
• Ensure work is done in accordance with project specifications.
• Review and rectify data discrepancies, and upkeep multiple datasets by compiling, cleaning, and sorting information according to established data fields to support overall data management.
• Script and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - checking, formatting, reviewing, and testing survey links for questionnaires.
• Ensure data consistency and accuracy across multiple variables and different datasets in accordance with project specifications and the conventions used within the dataset.
• Perform data coding, cleaning, and processing to ensure it is in accordance with industry standards of SSOC and SSIC or the related code frame provided.
• Manage longitudinal panel data, including merging and stacking panel data across different waves via syntax.
• Conduct operational data analysis and reporting: using SPSS/Excel to perform data validation and updates on key variables to identify issues related to data collection and quality, and to generate quality reports.
• Use SPSS to visualize relevant key variables using tables or other relevant visualization tools to identify possible issues and understand the breakdown of these key variables for decision-making.
• Train interviewers in accordance with project specifications to ensure that the quality of interviews is kept at high standards.
• Provide timely feedback to the Field team based on validation results to rectify any data discrepancies.
• Evaluate and generate reports on the quality of data collected by the interviewers.
• Liaise with vendors on project-related logistic matters.
• Liaise with clients to process data within their requirements.
• Assist in vetting translations of survey questionnaires when required.
Applicants must:
• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
• Preferably have experience working with data related to government-related research projects and longitudinal panel datasets; experience in market research field will be an advantage.
• Must have experience in coding SSOC and SSIC.
• Must be keenly interested in data analysis.
• Must possess strong data management skills and have strong computer knowledge, programming knowledge, and web development experience in SPSS, Python, R, and HTML.
• Must know how to use and have experience using Case Management System, SPSS DimensionNet, and Qualtrics for data collection; must have solid knowledge of writing SPSS syntax for data logic checks and data processing.
• Must be fluent in at least two languages in terms of speaking, writing, and listening.
• Must be meticulous and detail-oriented.
• Must have the ability to prioritize workload, be resourceful in getting things done to meet deadlines, and cope well with stress
