We are seeking a Government Affairs Manager for a regular position to work within the Government & Public Relations Unit at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)

 

Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for communications and relations with IVI’s key stakeholders in Korea, including government ministries and public sector organizations to protect and promote IVI’s interests while managing the secured funding and related tasks and supports.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities
   1. Manage relationships for the funding support, trust, and confidence in the organization of the Korean government and public funders
  • Submit and defend the annual operating budget proposal and closing report throughout the government budget process
  • Ensure seamless support of application and post-submission processes of other ROK contributions and grant proposals

 

   2. Execute government affairs programs aligning with the government needs
  • Ensure to maintain strong positive relationships with the stakeholders, government officials, ministries, and other organizations for the secured funding.
  • Serve as a liaison to GOK’s government agencies and public-sector organizations
  • Ensure effective communication and advocacy for IVI in terms of the funding requirements to Korean stakeholders

 

   3. Manage and monitor ROK’s budget, ODA information and other data
  • Manage and track internal data and information needed for mandatory annual update of IVI’s budget information
  • Prepare documents related to the assessment of IVI’s performance and activities by the ROK government
  • Oversee the collection, verification and updating of information and analytical data on ODA information and other data

 

 4. Conduct IVI’s institutional communications activities
  • Execute and support advocacy programs and events that help to increase IVI awareness in Korea
  • Participate in and support IVI’s public relations and advocacy activities as required
  • Communicate and work closely with Global Affairs & Communications in developing and implementing advocacy strategies.

 

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

 

   1. Education Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in science related, communications, business related field

 

   2. Related Field Work Experience
  • 8 years’ experience with undergraduate degree or 6 years’ experience with a master’s degree in related field: government, R&D, health, international relations, or administrative.

 

   3. Technical and Professional Skills / Knowledge
  • Government affairs, advocacy, donor relations, communications, interpersonal skills
  • Excellent skills in MS word, PPT, Excel (Hangeul a plus)

 

   4. Language Proficiency
  • Fluent and proficient in English and Korean
