# What we're looking for We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable **Senior Economic Researcher** in Web3 Economics to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in economics, a keen interest in Web3 technologies, and a deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals. As a Senior Researcher, you will lead a team of researchers in conducting comprehensive studies, developing frameworks, and analyzing data to create an economic framework for identifying risks in token economies within the Web3 industry. This is a project-based position opened up with the goal of pushing forward our research efforts and driving innovation within our organization.
# Responsibilities
- Lead a team of researchers in conducting thorough literature reviews, creating frameworks, writing articles, and conducting data analytics in the field of Web3 Economics.
- Apply economic principles to the Web3 ecosystem and contribute expertise and best practices in understanding the economic dynamics of various protocols that include, but are not limited to, decentralized finance (DeFi), infrastructure, stable coins, and other relevant areas.
- Mentor and guide junior researchers, providing support and knowledge transfer to enhance their research capabilities.
- Conduct and lead research on multiple areas within the Web3 industry, identifying and addressing economic risks associated with token economies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including economists, developers, and product managers, to provide economic insights and contribute to the design and development of Web3 products and services.
- Stay up to date with the latest research, industry trends, and regulatory developments in Web3 and blockchain economics, continuously expanding knowledge and expertise in the field.
- Present research findings, frameworks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external audiences, such as conferences or academic publications.
- Contribute to the development of research methodologies and innovative approaches to advance the understanding of Web3 economics.
# Qualifications
- Strong economics background in Economics (PhD degree preferred) and has keen research interest focused on topics related to Web3, blockchain, or decentralized systems.
- Solid understanding of Web3 technologies, including DeFi, infrastructure, and stable coins, and the ability to apply economic principles to analyze their impact and risks.
- Proficiency in statistical and econometric methods and modeling, and understands how to use statistical software for data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent understanding of Econometrics, financial economics, and macroeconomic theories and principles.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, enabling effective communication of complex economic concepts and research findings.
- Previous publication experience in reputable journals or conferences is preferred but not required.
- Experience using remote work tools such as Notion, Discord, and Google Suite for collaboration, communication, and project management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative research environment.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a team player and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
