TITLE: Business Development Assistant (Intern) for Asian Development Bank Partnership

ROLE PURPOSE:

 

Asian Development Bank (ADB) cooperates with a broad range of civil society organizations (CSOs) to strengthen its efforts to reduce poverty and increase the effectiveness, quality, and sustainability of its operations. The way CSOs can engage with ADB is diverse in that ADB integrates CSO knowledge and experience into ADB operations, engage CSOs in sharing knowledge and best practices and collaborate with CSOs for delivering certain activities as part of ADB operations. The relationship is expected to be often triangular in nature, involving both client governments and civil society organizations.

 

For Save the Children, ADB is a relatively new but strategic partner. A number of Save the Children offices gathered in mid-2023 to explore new ways of working in expanding partnership with ADB and Save the Children Regional Office (Resource Mobilization Unit) is in a position to coordinate with various stakeholders including Technical advisors, Advocacy teams and Save the Children Country Offices to ensure that we maximize our leverage to lead bigger impact through major regional development banks such as ADB.

 

For the year of 2024, Regional donor engagement plan is being developed in consultations with relevant stakeholders and the intern’s work will be an important reference to support the partnership development with ADB.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

Reports to: Ji Young Nam (Regional Business Development Manager, Asia)

Budget Responsibilities: None

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Compile and update donor intelligence for ADB including ADB’s recent priorities and the entry point for CSOs in general
  • Review Save the Children Country Offices’ 2024 strategies and Collect ADB- related information that are relevant to the country offices in the region
  • Review ADB’s consulting opportunities and Sort out the major thematic focuses in line with Save the Children’s strengths
  • Collect ADB’s partnership examples and Write a brief paper to capture the lessons and the next steps
  • In order to conduct research and collect relevant information, the intern can support and coordinate in focus group discussions/ technical working groups, as needed, and also support in coordinating with ADB’s CSO Cooperation Network

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Being able to use Microsoft programmes (e.g. excel, word, ppt)
  • English speaker/ writer
