Praveer Ranjan, an MPM alumnus of the LKY School, has recently been awarded the President’s Police Medal in recognition of his services to the Indian Police Service.
A citation said that the Puducherry Police Chief and Inspector General of Police has put in 22 years of distinguished service, providing not only leadership of a high order, but has also shown initiative in treading into professional areas like law and order, crime investigation, vigilance and economic offences. He served in various capacities in Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, CBI and now in Puducherry as IGP, Puducherry.
Quoting his very own words “It’s indeed a matter of honour for me and the people associated with me including my family, relatives, friends, teachers and institutions who have been an integral part of the journey so far. Without their support and guidance, I wouldn’t have been here. This journey has been extremely rewarding and satisfying, and the credit goes to all of them. I’m particularly indebted to the LKY School for re-imposing faith on my abilities to make a mark in this world full of challenges. I must express my deep sense of gratitude to the LKY School for so much of love and affection. In Dean Kishore’s words, ‘Right choice, right determination and right values’ will provide true leadership to the world.”
