13 Nov 2019

[ALUMNI-INFO TEXT="Tarun Sharma and Yutika Vora, both alumni of the Master in Public Policy (MPP) programmme at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, are passionate about making lives of people living in small cities in India better.

Starting from 2015, Tarun and Yutika have traveled to more than 50 small cities around India, to find out the challenges these citizens face, and finding ways to help bridge the gap between the policy makers and the ground people, so as to make the lives of these citizens living in small cities better."][/ALUMNI-INFO]

There are these people who understand the city so well, but they don't really have a say in shaping the destiny, destiny of those cities. They are these people who understand the challenges that the city has faced over the years and how they have circumvented some of these problems. But they're not on the table when decisions are being made for them. And that's when we realized that we need to bring cities, we need to bring citizens and communities of these people at the centre stage. That's why Nagrika as the name captures (Nagrika means citizen), that citizen has to be at the center. ", says Tarun.
