U.S.-Singapore Relations at 55: Our Shared Past and Future – Security Ties

The U.S. and Singapore share a deep and vital defense partnership. The United States provides Singapore with defense technology and facilities for military training, while Singapore, given its geostrategic position at the center of the Indo-Pacific, is a key partner for the U.S. in the region.  Over the last fifty-five years, numerous agreements have been signed between both countries to strengthen cooperation in various facets of security relations, including counter-proliferation, cybersecurity, law enforcement and counter-terrorism.

Given that security threats in the 21st century are increasingly unconstrained by borders and transnational in nature, how can the U.S. and Singapore leverage their strategic partnership to advance collaborations and institutions for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific? Join our speakers as they discuss how both countries can work together to explore new forms of regional collaboration to counter transnational threats.
