  1. To bring together academics, practitioners, policy makers with interest in non-profit sector to bridge the gaps between research and practice so that research findings can be translated to actionable insights with implications for policy and practice.
  2. To mobilise research attention, expertise and resources in order to avail them to VWOs who are under-equipped to leverage on research to improve services, and to inform policies that affect the social service sector as a whole.
  3. To encourage academics, policymakers and non-profit organisations to have a closer working relationship with one another, and create network of reciprocal knowledge flow between academic, agencies and government.
  4. To encourage non-profit agencies’ input into research so as to identify areas of research need, solicit ideas for research questions and possible use of findings.

The theme for this session is “Transforming Research into Solutions”.

There will be panel discussions on how to develop programme-monitoring systems that facilitate learning and improvement, analysing data to get insights about performance, and how practitioners on the ground can effectively partner academics to conduct research projects.

Panellists will include representatives from academic and private institutions, research centres and voluntary welfare organisations.
