The Chinese New Year is traditionally a period of big celebrations, and also a time of reunion and affirmation of the friendships among old friends. Over 100 alumni from the Singapore Alumni Chapter, faculty and staff from the LKY School gathered together
for Chinese New Year dinner on 27 February 2015 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel.
The evening celebration kicked off with an impressive lion dance performance. Ann Yom Steel, Director, External Affairs provided an update on the school’s development while Bernard Oh (MPP 2011), President of the Singapore Alumni Chapter, shared the Alumni
Chapter’s plans for the New Year.
The event emcee, Yang Li (MPP 2013), led the dinner party through an elaborate and entertaining preparation of the Lo Hei (Chinese New Year salad) while explaining the auspicious connotations with each condiment. This was followed by the intense tossing
of the salad, an experience relished by all, which concluded the memorable evening on a high note.
