Public service today faces challenges very different from the public service of yore, as technological innovations, deepening globalisation and increasingly differentiated populations call out for decisions to be made efficiently and in a targeted and consistent fashion. In this light, Policy Automation, which translates policy guidelines into everyday executable rules, may offer promising leads for the public service of the 21st century.
This half-day forum, targeted at senior staff members of the public sector and academia, seeks to explore the areas of service delivery in the Public Sector that can be enhanced by Policy Automation. Speakers will share their experiences of Policy Automation from local and foreign governments. Through this forum, the Institute of Policy Studies and the Civil Service College seek to drive neutral thought leadership on this issue. The objective is to identify a possible research agenda for further assessment within Singapore agencies.
