“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” – Winnie the Pooh.
On 13 July 2016, we bid farewell to our Class of 2016. The day started with a graduation ceremony at UCC, followed by our LKY School “tradition” where we brought the graduates back to campus for the last time, for a sending off reception.
Dean opened the event with his usual three points and the graduates were seen nodding away, taking in their final three points from him. Many family members of our graduates were also present at the event and we could tell from their faces, how proud they were of our soon-to-be alumni of the LKY School.
Everyone had a good time catching up, leaving their contacts with each other and taking lots of photos for keepsake.
The late Mr Lee Kuan Yew once said, “The ideal product is the student, the university graduate, who is strong, robust, rugged, with tremendous qualities of stamina, endurance and at the same time, with great intellectual discipline and, most important of all, humility and love for his community; a readiness to serve whether God or king or country or, if you like, just his community.”
The Alumni Relations Team (ART) would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our new graduates, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours! Goodbyes are not forever, nor is it the end. For now, goodbye simple means until we meet again
