WISE, an initiative of Qatar Foundation, is seeking a full-time associate to support the WISE Programs. This position will report to the Manager, Programs, and will work closely with the Program Team members leading the WISE Prize, the Edtech Accelerator and the Testbed.

 

     Key Responsibilities

  • Support the running of the WISE Prize for Education. This includes the due diligence of organizations applying for the Prize, the assessment of the potential and feasibility of the education solutions proposed by the applicants, and the delivery of capacity building sessions for the Prize finalists.
  • Support the running of the WISE Edtech Accelerator. This includes the preparation and delivery of bootcamps for the startups participating in the program, and the support to the cohort in seeking investment and funding opportunities.
  • Support the running of the WISE Testbed. This includes the assessment of shortlisted education solutions to be tested in schools in Qatar and the strategy development for a mutually beneficial relationship for the organizations and the schools.
  • Suggest and implement ways to develop strong advocacy campaigns (through policy recommendations, media plan, partnerships, etc.).
  • Identify and contact key stakeholders in the target organizations, and countries to develop working relationships with the identified individuals.
  • Research and identify opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally for WISE to play a role in the development of educational policies, strategies, and structures to ensure improved educational outcomes.
  • Assist in coordinating the participation of WISE at key forums to ensure the smooth running of the programs.
  • Assist it preparing team members to represent WISE at forums by preparing briefs on participants, topics, and relevant policy issues.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

     

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Economics, Finance, Management, STEM-related subjects or other relevant field
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the education sector, in particular innovation and education technology
  • Demonstrated experience with due diligence and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of startup acceleration models
  • Broad understanding of social media and relevant technologies to promote the work of WISE
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Proficiency in other UN official languages (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish or French) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
