Hours:

 

As this is an operational role working in conjunction with our UK-based ops centre, our working pattern changes in line with the UK’s BST / GMT time zones:

 

  1. From Monday, 1st April 2024: The working day is between 08h00 and 16h00 (Singapore local time)
  2. From Monday, 28th October 2024: The working day is between 09h00 and 17h00 (Singapore local time)

 

We require a commitment of two days per week, preferably for 6 months.

Internship Duration:

Minimum commitment time of six months.

Associate Security Consultant/Senior Intelligence Analyst

Salary:

SGD $16/hour, paid on a monthly basis

At the centre of our security services is the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC). Operating 24/7/365, the GSOC is staffed by a specialist team of security professionals and crisis management experts who are highly practiced in the risks associated with global travel. They provide clients with timely, relevant, actionable intelligence and advice using cutting-edge technology to provide location specific insight and monitoring of incidents.

 

We work with our clients to help evaluate the security risks their global operations face, providing advice on minimising those risks and guiding them through the process of building a safer and more secure environment for their employees, project, personnel and site facilities. Providing access to highly specialist consultants with local knowledge and experience of challenging environments, we help clients develop risk mitigation plans appropriate to the level of risk acceptable to them.

 

 

Key activities/main duties:

The IAI supports the Singapore GSOC in ensuring the delivery of intelligence alerts to our clients travelling around the world, in a variety of security risk environments.

 

Accountabilities include (but not limited to):

 

       Global Monitoring:

  1. Monitoring global intelligence feeds for information on current events, and authoring intelligence alerts for our travellers around the world.
  2. Following established guidelines and thresholds to assign risk levels to notable events, and following escalation procedures as required.

     

    Weekly Forecasts:

  3. Produce briefings on notable events coming up in the Asia Pacific region for our security managers in the region, in conjunction with our Regional Analysts.

     

    Platform Development:

  4. Complete research assignments to produce content for our country intelligence portal, including information about security, operational and political risk.

 

Other duties may be assigned on an ad hoc basis, based on operational need and personal interests.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

 

       Skills

  1. Excellent research and written communication skills.
  2. Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure and follow protocol with a high attention to detail.

     

    Required Experience

  3. Knowledge of political and security issues, with a preferred expertise in APAC.
  4. Strong interest in learning more about the global operating environment and assisting travellers in mitigating travel security risks.

     

    Preferred Experience

  5. Currently enrolled into, or recently completed, a relevant undergraduate qualification in International Relations, Security Studies or other regional specialism.
  6. Experience of operating in an international context (postings, exchanges or employment within a foreign multinational company).
  7. Experience of working in a small team environment.

 

 

Career Development:

 

Internship positions will be offered for fixed terms based upon discussions around availability and operational need. Candidates that perform well in the internship role will be invited to apply for future positions in the Singapore GSOC, such as Junior Security Coordinator or Threat Analyst positions if and when they become available. Upon completion of the internship the intern will be provided with a thorough reference for future use.
