Tang Hwee Noy is part of the Operations Team at IPS where she is the Data Control Management Manager in the Quality Control Department. She leads a team of information system staff and oversees the data management and quality control for all the projects in Social Lab.
She has 20 years of experience in managing numerous data collection projects in both data management and quality control roles and 13 years of experience in leading teams of information system staff to deliver high quality data that is compliant with industry standards.
Prior to joining IPS, Hwee Noy worked in a media research organisation for 13 years. Leading a team of information systems specialists and support staff, she planned, organised and managed the company’s data processing operations, developed goals, objectives, and priorities, scheduled and supervised the overall data processing and data quality control checks of the Information Systems Department to achieve high quality data coding, cleaning and processing. She was involved in client serving for Public Sector Business (e.g. LTA, MCI, HPB, IAL, ITE). In addition, she also provided technical and human resource assistance for businesses, systems analysis and other applications, and was appointed one of the internal auditors of a team responsible for obtaining ISO 9001:2008 certification for the company. In particular, she was the lead data support manager for an international year-long study, the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (PIAAC).
Hwee Noy has also worked as an Associate Engineer in the electronics industry for 7 years. She was responsible for machinery repair and maintenance. She was selected for specialised training in the main factory in Japan and was responsible for knowledge transfer after the training. Leading a team of engineering assistants, she developed and implemented processes and programmes to achieve high quality and productivity.
