During this summer, I worked as a Communications Intern at the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand. My main contributions were to produce regional media reports covering key economic, political, and social developments across 25 Asia Pacific countries and regions and produce strategic communications materials for UNDCO projects. For instance, I researched archive footage during the documentary production process for the Regional Director, edited and produced an inspirational video featuring high-level UN officials and teams, and designed formal visual materials. Furthermore, I researched the half-year highlights of the UN’s coordination efforts towards achieving the SDGs in Asia Pacific countries and regions and created a digital map of RCO and MCOs’ social media accounts. I actively participated in insightful workshops and fun trivia events. I not only learnt about Communications and Coordination work, but also met many supportive, warm colleagues at UNDCO and the UN.
