Singapore Budget 2026: Enduring problems in uncertain times

Singapore’s 2026 budget is the first by the government freshly elected in 2025. It comes as our economy enters a period of exceptional global challenges and uncertainty. Domestically, an ageing population throws up a wide range of issues, such as support for caregivers, employment for older workers, and health and retirement needs. In recent debates about inequality and Singapore’s brand of meritocracy, there have been questions about our education system and approach towards employment support. Join our panel of experts as we interrogate what this budget offers and what more needs to be done to build a stronger and more inclusive society.
