Resilience Trail

Resilience Trails is Skillseed’s place-based, asset-driven and community-led initiative where we partner with Allkin Singapore and engage individuals with disabilities, single mothers and other individuals from under-resourced communities to co-create and co-run community trails in their own neighbourhoods. We aim to provide our Community Guides an avenue for dignified, flexible and strengths-driven employment. Resilience Trails has also been mindfully designed to serve as a platform that promotes the agency, voice and power of the Community Guides, whilst fostering, in trail participants, deeper empathy, awareness and understanding of communities’ lived experiences. Skillseed’s Community Guides are either former or current beneficiaries of Allkin Singapore. More importantly, despite personal challenges, the Guides are all active volunteers and contributors to their community.

Skillseed is a Singaporean social enterprise that exists to help build a trust-driven and collaborative society. We distil insights from journeying with different ground communities, into experiential learning curricula that amplifies the partnerships and engagement capabilities of our stakeholders. These include government leaders, corporate stewards, teachers, youths, social workers and more. Our community and capability building efforts contribute towards the accomplishment of United Nations Sustainable Development goals No. 4 (Quality education for all), No. 10 (Reduced inequalities) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the goals). For more information, please visit www.skillseed.sg.

A Resilience Trail consists of a 20 mins mandatory virtual pre-trail briefing (video and decks shared at least 1 week before the trail) and a 2.5-hour in-person learning trail in the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood. To facilitate conversations and discussions, trails will keep to a maximum of 18 pax per trail, with each trail being co-led by one Guide and one Skillseed facilitator. To have 2 trails with a total pax of 36 pax to be done simultaneously.

The trail will be public policy related which have previously been hosted for senior directors across agencies and ministries.
