IPS Corporate Associates One-table Dinner with Ms Lai Wei Lin

Minister for Health Mr Ong Ye Kung observed in 2023 that “domestically, the biggest social transformation for this generation will be ageing.” This transformation is already underway. Over the past decade, the number of Singaporeans aged 80 and above has increased by 60%. Singapore will become a super-aged society this year, with more than one in five Singaporeans aged 65 or above. By 2030, this proportion will increase to around one in four.

In response to these demographic shifts, Singapore has adopted a whole-of-society approach, introducing national initiatives in preventive health and addressing broader concerns such as retirement adequacy. However, critical questions remain. What are the other economic, societal and structural transformations needed to support healthy ageing and a high quality of life for future generations? How will these changes shape the way we live, work and age well?

Join us for an evening with Ms Lai Wei Lin as she shares how the Ministry of Health is planning ahead to ensure that Singapore’s healthcare systems and policies remain robust, adaptive and ready to navigate this transition.
