IPS Online Forum on Migrant Workers: Policy Responses and Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic

ips online_forum on migrant workers_v2

Migrant workers play a critical role in Singapore’s economy and in infrastructural development projects.

The scale of Covid-19 infections within the community has led Singaporeans to look closer at the working and living conditions of migrant workers, and how the broader Singaporean society relates to this community.

  • What is the current state of care for the different segments of migrant workers and what more should be done to secure their well-being?
  • Looking beyond the current healthcare crisis, what are the changes to manpower policy and economic strategy that should be explored?
Here's the result of the online poll by OPPI, which provided a sense of what some 240 participants felt about migrant worker issues.
