Development Strategies for Indonesia as an Emerging Middle Power, Competitiveness Ranking and Simulation Studies on 100 Asian Economies

At the annual ACI 2012 Conference on “Development Strategies for Indonesia as an Emerging Middle Power, Competitiveness Ranking and Simulation Studies on 100 Asian Economies”, ACI’s inaugural attempt on competitiveness ranking, simulation and strategic development analysis for 33 Indonesian provinces would be presented.

For the first time, ACI will be releasing its assessment on competitiveness and simulation analysis on 34 Greater China economies, 35 States of India and ASEAN-10 economies for the period of 2000 to 2010. Other pioneer attempts includes the empirical constructions of “Indices on Cost of Living, Purchasing Power and Wages for Expatriates and Average Residents for 109 Cities”, developing of a comprehensive “Liveable Cities Index for 64 Global Cities” and “Identification of Global Growth Engines including United States of America, European Union, China and Japan to 11 Asian Economies over the 1980-2010 Period” will be showcased as well.

ACI believes that this extensive research effort will be beneficial to public policy formulations, strategic development and dynamic leadership for senior government officials from the Asian regions. The empirical findings will also be of interest to international fund managers and multinational corporations who are looking towards Asia as investment destinations. Understanding the latest economic trends and relative competitiveness of Asian economies including ASEAN, China and India as major emerging engines of growth will be of keen interests to global policy think-tanks and academics world-wide.
