The Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) welcomed a delegation from International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) and FutureTales Lab, Thailand, for a research visit and exchange of ideas on 18 August 2026.
Discussions centred on the mega-trends set to shape ASEAN's development over the coming decades. The Thai delegation presented their PESTEL framework for identifying priority focus areas, and ACI researchers responded with perspectives relevant to Singaporean and ASEAN policymakers. Notable themes include trade disruptions, technological innovation, and energy systems resilience.
ACI congratulates its Thai colleagues on their upcoming site visits across ASEAN countries, undertaken in preparation for the Trade Intelligence Report (TIR) 2026, and looks forward to reading the completed report and assessing its relevance to the policy challenges facing the region today.
