The difficult geopolitical and economic context has raised energy security as a key issue of concern. Yet, the impacts of climate change continue to grow, affecting lives and livelihoods.  COP-27 has been framed as an implementation COP, and its key objective is to try to maintain if not advance the momentum on global climate action amid other pressing challenges and priorities. In support of global climate actions, Singapore has raised its climate ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and has submitted its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and Long-Term Low-Emissions Development Strategy (LEDS) just before COP-27 in line with the Glasgow Climate Pact adopted at COP-26. We had earlier launched the Singapore Green Plan 2030, our national roadmap towards sustainable development and net-zero emissions. Climate change is a complex issue that cannot be solved by any one government or country. Singapore will continue to work with all stakeholders, as well as with our international partners, to create greater impact and help advance the global transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
