Giving

giving_brochure-1-726x1024The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is among the world’s premier resources for public policy education and research. The generosity of alumni and friends who understand and believe in our mission enables LKYSPP to address unprecedented global challenges and advance the frontiers of knowledge.

A gift to the LKY School is an investment in a better future, because what the School achieves, it gives to the world. Every gift to the LKY School, no matter its size, makes a difference. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we are able to fill our lecture theatres with the next generation of Asian policymakers and leaders, bring in the best faculty into our academic offices and maintain our campus to the highest standards. The School looks forward to playing a part in improving the standards of governance and public policy in Asia. With your commitment we will be able to realise our mission to inspire leaders, improve lives and transform Asia.

We welcome unrestricted support through the Dean’s Fund, LKYSPP Alumni Fund and endowed or current-use commitments for student Scholarships and Awards.

Tax Benefits

From 1 January 2011, all donors are required to provide their tax reference number (e.g. NRIC/FIN/UEN) when they make a gift to the University in order to be given tax deductions on the gift. Tax deductions for the gift will be automatically reflected in the donors’ tax assessments based on the information from the University. If the tax deduction for the gift is more than your taxable income for the year, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) allows you to carry forward the unutilised deduction for a maximum of five years.

Singapore tax residents will receive a 250 percent tax deduction for donations made from 2016 to 2018

To continue building a stronger sense of community, the Government has decided to offer a 250% tax deduction for qualified donations received from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018.

If you are a US tax resident, you can support and make a significant impact on NUS by contacting the “NUS America Foundation Inc.”, a charitable organisation with tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) status under US law. For more information, please click here.

If you are not a Singapore tax resident, you are encouraged to investigate your individual country’s tax exemption laws to determine whether you qualify for tax exemption.

Dollar-For-Dollar Government Matching

Your gift will double in value right at the onset. It will attract a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from the Government that goes into the School’s Endowment Fund, which provides support to the School in perpetuity.

Recognition and Naming Opportunities

To honor and express appreciation to the donor, appropriate recognition will be given to the donor on our website, publications and press releases.

In addition, the School offers multiple naming opportunities and recognition to acknowledge the generosity of our donors. This name will appear in all of the School’s collaterals. For the list of naming opportunities available, please contact:
