The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is an autonomous research institute within National University of Singapore. IPS is looking to hire a Senior Executive/Assistant Manager (Data Quality Management) for Social Lab. The appointed personnel will support the assist the Assistant Senior Manager to manage/support the Data/QC team’s day-to-day operations to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data. This role will be responsible for QC/data administration and support audit checks on survey fieldwork. It will provides opportunities to develop essential QC operations skills and gain exposure to advanced data processing and analysis.
The job scope includes:
• Manage QC data for assigned projects, including coordinating freelancers to perform telephone validations, audio audits, onsite checks, and observations.
• Supervise and oversee the Data and QC Team to ensure timely delivery of quality data.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project specifications.
• Review, clean, and rectify data discrepancies across multiple datasets.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for survey links and questionnaires.
• Ensure data consistency and accuracy across variables and datasets.
• Perform data coding, cleaning, and processing in line with SSOC, SSIC, or other provided code frames and data dictionaries.
• Manage longitudinal panel data, including merging and stacking data across waves using syntax.
• Conduct operational data analysis and reporting using SPSS and Excel.
• Prepare quality reports and visual summaries to support decision-making.
• Train interviewers and provide timely feedback to the Field team.
• Evaluate data quality and report findings.
• Liaise with vendors and clients on project-related matters.
• Assist with vetting translations of survey questionnaires when required.
• Perform any other QC or data-related duties as assigned.
Applicants must:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma holder with relevant experience.
• Experience in SSOC and SSIC coding.
• Strong interest in data analysis.
• Strong data management and technical skills, with experience in SPSS, Python, R, and HTML.
• Experience using Case Management System, SPSS DimensionNet, and Qualtrics.
• Good knowledge of SPSS syntax for data checks and processing.
• Fluent in at least two languages, both written and spoken.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
• Able to prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
