Job Purpose:The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy think-tank at the National University of Singapore. The Institute analyses public policy; builds bridges between thought leaders; communicates its findings to a wide audience; and provides a platform for mature, open and incisive discussion on Singapore’s challenges, options and direction.
IPS is seeking to appoint an Assistant Manager (Development). The main responsibilities will be to support the Institute’s fundraising, with a focus on managing the IPS Corporate Associates Programme, including its administration, logistics and calendar of donor events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the IPS Corporate Associates (CA) Programme, enhancing donor value through new initiatives and improvements.
- Plan and deliver donor events end-to-end, including but not limited to conceptualisation, budgeting/procurement, speaker liaison, registration, EDMs, collateral, tech runs, on-site management and post-event follow-up.
- Maintain accurate donor records and event databases, ensuring timely documentation and updates.
- Drive donor acquisition, retention and renewals; prepare and follow up on appeals; process gifts and agreements; and track fundraising campaigns.
- Steward donor relationships and communications by creating engagement opportunities and recognition initiatives, coordinating across departments, supporting the copy-editing and distribution of reports and materials, and conducting basic research on organisations and relevant topics.
- Perform general administration duties, support IPS-wide events and undertake ad hoc assignments as required.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Arts, Social Sciences, Mass Communication(s), or Business Administration.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience, preferably in events management, donor relations, or stakeholder engagement, including some leadership experience.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Methodical, meticulous and organised, ideally with experience managing detailed administrative tasks.
- Self- motivated, collaborative, and capable of working effectively both independently and within a team under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
