Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist in conducting comprehensive secondary research on the nonprofit landscape in South-East Asia, with a focus on Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of social development and nonprofit research. You will be working directly with the Founder and Director of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
● Secondary Research:
○Conduct detailed research on registered charities working in the social development sector across South-East Asia, with a focus on Singapore.
○ Identify organisations that provide services and advocate for the rights of women, refugees, people on the move, migrant workers, children, and youth.
● Funding Landscape Analysis:
○Research the funding landscape that supports these charities, including institutional, government, philanthropic, and impact investment sources.
○Identify key players in the funding space, including major donors, government programs, and impact investors that support social development initiatives.
● Data Compilation and Reporting:
○ Compile and organise research findings.
○Assist in preparing presentations and briefs that summarise key findings for internal and external stakeholders.
● Continuous Learning and Development:
○ Stay updated on trends and developments in the social development sector and the nonprofit landscape in the region.
Qualifications
●The position is open to postgraduate candidates. Students who have completed or are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in social sciences may apply as well.
●Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information from various sources.
●Familiarity or interest in learning about the nonprofit sector, particularly in South-East Asia, is a plus.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace.
