This course provides a broad introduction to international relations, examining the roles of states and various global actors such as organizations, multinational corporations, and terrorist networks. Students will learn major theories and concepts to understand and address complex global challenges like health, human trafficking, climate change, terrorism, and cybersecurity in our interconnected world.

Introduction to Policy Making equips policy officers and managers with the essentials of public policy. The course covers concepts, methodologies, and tools for formulating and executing impactful policies. It teaches how to identify and address social, economic, and political challenges, and explores various approaches to interrelated policy issues. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the policymaking process and its challenges.

Completing all three courses across separate runs will still qualify you for the professional certificate.
There will be a reflection exercise to be completed at the end of the course. Do note that if you fail to complete the course, you will be liable for bearing the full course fee.
You can expect to spend up to 20 hours or more per week, depending on the course you are attending under PCIR or PCPPA.
Attendance for all online Zoom sessions is compulsory. In order to complete the course, you are required to watch all pre-recorded videos (if applicable), attend at least 80% of the online class, and submit the evaluation and reflection exercise at the end of the course.
At the end of this short course, you will be conferred a Certificate of Completion. Upon completion of all 3 PCIR or PCPPA short courses, you will be conferred a Professional Certificate on top of the Certificate of Completion.

Step 2: Under the drop-down button, select the category that belongs to you. If you are joining as a self-funded participant, click on “Member of the Public”.
Step 3: Select “Short Course/Modular Course” and click on “Applying for Myself”.
Step 4: Under the drop-down button, select “Short Course”.
Step 5: Under “By Faculty” option, select “LKYSPP Dean’s Office”.
You should see the courses offered reflected.

*Can I use both my SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) and SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) for the same course?*
+Yes, Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above will automatically qualify for the MCES funding and only be billed for 10% of the programme fees.
