Synopsis
Duration: 8 hours
This programme is structured around three primary areas of transformative focus: knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour.
Regarding knowledge, participants will delve into empirically-based insights to deepen their understanding of Singapore’s rich religious landscape.
Under attitudes, attendees will actively engage in reflective discussions and expressive activities facilitated by a diverse array of pedagogical approaches, such as gamification. Our researchers have crafted interactive experiences by blending online and in-person elements to foster immersion and optimise learning.
Focusing on behaviour, participants will receive guidance on how to navigate intricate interfaith and intercultural scenarios. They will also be encouraged to take ownership of promoting interreligious harmony through their actions.
Upon completion of the programme, participants will gain proficiency in the following areas:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the multi-religious landscape of Singapore and the benefits of religious harmony towards social cohesion.
- Become aware of one’s own biases while building emotional and cognitive empathy.
- Identify different kinds of religious sensitivities.
- Develop skillsets to navigate the unfamiliar and/or the uncomfortable in a culturally sensitive and non-prejudicial manner.
- Cultivate appreciation for religious differences and find commonalities.
