PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The IPS Programme on Race, Religion and Intergroup Cohesion (IPS RRIC) leverages a decade of IPS’s research on social cohesion to offer a dynamic array of initiatives tailored to meet diverse needs.

The Power of Diversity programme is designed to cultivate diversity-ready and inclusive workplaces, providing teams with the tools to excel in a multicultural environment. This programme helps identify and address insensitive behaviours, developing the skills necessary for culturally sensitive interactions. Customisable for students, it aims to nurture a generation of compassionate and open-minded leaders, preparing young minds for an increasingly diverse workplace.

The Beyond Beliefs programme is a specialised training workshop focused on discovering, navigating, and appreciating religious differences and commonalities.

Aimed at fostering foreign and local integration, Crossing Cultural Bridges explores cultural nuances in the workplace, transforming cultural differences into strengths rather than obstacles.

Beyond our training workshops, IPS RRIC hosts a bi-annual Thought Leadership Forum that delves into critical RRIC-related issues. Scholars and expert panels provide insights on topics from a global perspective, extending beyond Singapore.

Customisable and tailored to suit your needs, explore the details of our individual programmes below.

RRIC ROAD MAP

Programme Evaluation

Throughout and following each programme's implementation, key indicators—such as changes in attitudes, acquired knowledge, and the quality of relationships—will be utilised to assess the programme's success. Moreover, Social Lab envisions this programme to be highly collaborative and aims to seek participants' feedback to enhance and deliver an improved programme compared to the previous one.

The DNA Approach

Developed by researchers in IPS, the DNA approach is an all-encompassing and methodologically-driven framework based on the three components of attitudes in social psychology—cognitive, affective, and behavioural.

The DNA approach is designed to empower individuals with practical skills and knowledge to promote racial sensitivity in their interactions. It aims to help participants develop a deeper understanding of intergroup dynamics and equip them with the tools to navigate sensitive situations with respect and empathy.

Our Pedagogical Tools

Packed with immersive and engaging pedagogical tools in each segment, the programme will consist of various activities developed by IPS, including:

  • The use of Virtual Reality (VR) for experiential learning
  • Interactive games and applications to engage participants in research-based concepts
  • Roleplaying with guided facilitation and interventions for collective brainstorming
  • Specified tasks through carefully crafted scenarios with measurable objectives
