Global health; human trafficking; climate change; international terrorism; cyber (in)security – the world in the 21st century is at a complex place. In many ways, our world is more interconnected than ever before and we need to be equipped to face a host of evolving challenges.
International Relations consider the role of not only of states but also a wide range of actors on the world’s stage – from organisations to multinational corporations and from civil society groups to terrorist networks, different actors can influence policy, business and programme decisions in our spheres of influence and work.
This course provides a broad introduction to the main concepts and theories in the field of politics and international relations. Individuals will learn major theories of international relations and apply them to understand international situations and issues in the modern world. They will examine the global relations of states, power and organisations, to understand and develop solutions to global challenges and opportunities.
*This is one of three short courses within the Professional Certificate in Global Politics and International Relations (PCIR). It is not compulsory to attend all three PCIR short courses unless you are working towards a Professional Certificate.
Please note that the maximum class size is 40 participants. Acceptance is on a first come first serve basis and registration will close once we hit a full class.
