Begins in August and ends
on July of the following year.
The Professional Development Fellowship Programme (PDFP) welcomes experienced civil servants to a year-long, self-paced education for professional growth, leadership development and cultural immersion. Designed to connect policy practitioners with academics, PDFP provides Fellows an opportunity to examine key challenges in policy.
Rather than being associated with one specific structured programme of graduate study, PDFP is designed for those who want to take full advantage of interdisciplinary aspects of the LKY School.
During the research journey, Fellows will be offered learning opportunities. They will audit two elective modules of their choice (one per semester), subject to course instructor’s approval, and take part in an Academic English Language course. Fellows can also attend up to 10 days’ worth of open-enrolment executive courses offered by the LKY School, Executive Education. These courses are designed for working professionals to sharpen their policy acumen, gain regional insights and share experiences with their counterparts from around the world.
Through events such as research seminars, brown bag lectures and evening talks featuring guest speakers from both within and outside the school, Fellows can also look forward to an exposure of a myriad of public policy issues and expand their professional network.
Fellows have access to on- and off-campus resources and facilities such as libraries, electronic resources and sports complex to support their learning and daily living. They are encouraged to join extracurricular activities offered by LKY School and the University’s main Kent Ridge campus, and to explore Singapore’s multicultural diversity or even the Southeast Asian region during their free time. Fellows can also expect cultural and networking activities organised by the school.
