Job Summary:

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore is seeking applicants for the Yong Pung How Professor at the full professor rank.

The Yong Pung How Professorship, endowed in 2008 by the Yong Shook Lin Trust, honours Mr Yong Pung How, Singapore’s Chief Justice from 1990 to 2006. Mr Yong also served as Chairman and CEO of the Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation and held appointments with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Singapore Broadcasting Corporation. He was conferred Singapore’s highest award, the Order of Temasek (First Class), in 1999.

The Yong Pung How Professor will be a core member of the School’s academic leadership team, working with an interdisciplinary faculty to advance the research and teaching missions of the School. A research focus on Asia is a definite plus.

The LKY School received a generous endowment from Dr. Li Ka Shing in 2007 and has established three professorships with the endowment, representing key research pillars at the School. These professorships are in the areas of Public Management, Economics, and Political Science.

Job Summary:

The Research Associate will be a member of the IWP research team, working under the Directors and Research Fellows to help deliver IWP’s research programme on water policy and governance. The RA will work on policy-relevant research projects relating to IWP’s core research theme of urban water security in addition to providing support in project and grant management, stakeholder liaison and outreach for IWP. Candidates should have a background in economics, political science or environmental studies and have an interest in the policy and governance aspects of water. All candidates should have a strong willingness to learn about new topics and tools. Applicants with experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods will be given preference. Excellent written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of Asian languages would be an advantage.

The Lee Foundation Professorship was established in 2014 with the support of the Lee Foundation, Singapore’s largest private charitable foundation.
 
The Lee Foundation Professor on US-China Relations will be a core member of the School’s academic leadership team, working with an interdisciplinary faculty to advance the research and teaching missions of the School in International Relations.
