Senior Manager, Corporate Services-Finance

This role will drive financial sustainability initiatives and act as a business partner to the various departments. The incumbent would also be in-charge of monthly preparation /analysis of financial statement, other financial simulation and drive the audit processes of the school.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee a senior executive in the preparation and analysis of statutory financial statement other financial simulations. Monthly review of accounts and all financial data of the units, in order to identify key areas of improvement and deploy specific action plan.
  • Prepare Monthly Business Review. Prioritize and target under performance units, working closely with Operations Managers on improvement strategies.
  • Provide financial performance metrics for the units. Develop benchmarking and comparison between units. Monitor financial KPIs.
  • Support Financial Excellence and follow-up of Financial Excellence action
  • Preparation of reports to analyze irregularities, deviation, and gaps
  • Drive and manage the audit process and review/prepare the statutory accounts of the school.
  • Drive prepare/review ad-hoc financial simulation to support management decision, e.g. simulation for the master programmes, funding renewal or any other contracts. Able to identify the cause-and-effect relationship between different aspects of the situation.
  • Improve on internal control, efficiency and effectiveness through process re-engineering or development/application of information systems.
  • Design/prepare visually appealing financial reports/presentation/dashboard
  • Improve Corporate Governance through streamlining and standardization of work processes. Follow by the drafting/update of the Standard Operating procedures.
  • Liaise with other functional managers to put the finances in context
  • Drive/present to the Management Committee or other stakeholders to gain support in financial initiatives or proposal to promote long-term financial sustainability of the school.

  • Able to see patterns, trends when looking at information
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting with professional qualification preferred
  • 10 to 15 years working experience and at least 3 years in the External/statutory audit field
  • Working experience or exposure to government linked organisations would be an advantage
  • Strong in business partnering and financial control
  • Possess strong analytical skills, meticulous with high level of integrity
  • Able to multi-task, cope with urgent request and have worked in a fast pace environment
  • Team player and must have team spirit. At the same time, able to work independently
  • Resourceful and pro-active
  • Diplomatic in handling internal and external stakeholders
  • Good in both oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
