Full Time Research Assistant/Associate (1 year appointment in the first instance)

Job Description

Provide research assistance to Professor in research projects. Tasks include:

  • Undertake library and on-line research on world order and related international relations and economics topics
  • Organise statistical data access and other research materials digitally
  • Perform small statistical and graphical analyses [R, GIS (or counterparts) – desirable but not essential]
  • Manage book and research projects
  • Undertake light copy-editing and proof-reading

Job Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, International Development, Political Science, International Relations, or related discipline. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following are especially encouraged to apply:
    • The liberal world order since 1950
    • Athens and the Delian League
    • International Relations Theory
    • Basic game theory and mechanism design
  • Self-motivation and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to use popular academic software (MS Office, Endnote etc.)
  • Quantitative/statistical skills, including ability to use statistical software a plus
  • The one-year post may be especially attractive for a Master’s degree holder interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the near future
