Full Time Research Assistant (1 year appointment, 1 August 2017 to 31 July 2018)

Job Description

Provide research assistance to Professor on his research projects. Tasks include:

  • Library and on-line research on United States foreign policy (1898-now), the Chinese tributary system, and related international relations topics
  • Write weekly memos on findings and draft occasional papers in good English
  • Organize research materials, including assembling hard and soft copies
  • Manage book and research projects
  • Copy-editing and proof reading

Job Requirements

  • A Master degree in Public Policy, (Political) Psychology, Political Science, International Relations, or related discipline. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following are especially encouraged to apply:
    • Political Psychology
    • United States Foreign Policy toward Asia
    • International Relations Theory
  • Self-motivation and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Quantitative/statistical skills a plus
  • Ability to read Chinese a plus
  • Ability to use popular academic software (MS Office, Endnote etc.)
  • The one-year post may be especially attractive for a Master degree holder interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the near future
