Future Income Sharing Agreements (FISAs) are a mechanism to finance the higher education needs of Rising Stars. FISAs are neither loans nor scholarships, and have been designed to be affordable and flexible for students. As the FISA Development Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the expansion of FISAs to new countries, while also contributing to the enhancement of policies, procedures and processes around FISAs. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Wedu, and influence the development of higher education financing solutions for needy and deserving students. We are looking for a candidate who is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about our mission. In particular, the role involves:
Researching and analyzing relevant data on countries planned for FISA expansion
Engaging with potential supporters / partners – educational institutions, NGOs, multi-lateral organizations
Reviewing best-practices related to policies, procedures and processes, and supporting the development of suitable tools to present FISAs to diverse stakeholders
Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed
You have completed or are currently working towards completing a University degree in any field
You enjoy research and analysis, and have successfully used your research and analysis skills in previous projects or studies
You have a background or interest in economics, finance, business, management or related areas – this is preferred but not essential
You pay high attention to detail
You have reasonable writing skills in English
You have reasonable Excel skills, and have used it in previous projects or studies
You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic
You have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
You have a passionate commitment to promote social change and emerging female leaders from underprivileged communities
Wedu is looking for a candidate who will be able to start as soon as possible, with a strong preference for those who are already based in Bangkok. We expect from you a minimum commitment of 3 months with at least 15-20 hours in-office per week. This is a part-time, unpaid position but may be considered for an intern-to-hire arrangement, depending on previous experience, organizational need and performance in the internship.
