For the first time, the NUS community will be represented in the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 as teamNUS comprising our students, staff and alumni. The marathon will be held on 7 Dec 2008. This teamNUS event is jointly organized by OAR, OSA, NUSSU, UHWC, NUSS and supported by Standard Chartered Bank. To add cheer to the event, NUS Cheerleaders as well as members of NUS Photographic Society will be there to support our teamNUS runners. Drumming up the marathon challenge, Dr Kua Harn Wei, our very own tri-athlete ironman, alumnus and Assistant Professor with SDE, will conduct 2 running clinics for our runners. A teamNUS goodie bag containing specially-designed teamNUS Singapore Marathon dri-fit singlet, a water-bottle, teamNUS tattoo as well as information brochures on how one can support our teamNUS runners will be included in the goodie bags. Funds raised will go towards the NUS Student Sports Bursaries Award and Shaw Foundation Alumni House for student and alumni programmes.
